What is a guardian home?
Our Guardian Home Program allows our breeding dogs to live as cherished family pets while remaining part of our breeding program. Guardian families receive one of our exceptional dogs at no purchase price, provide a loving forever home, and become an important part of the Little Fur Friends family.
A Forever Family Pet
Your guardian dog lives with you as your beloved family companion from the day you bring them home. While they remain part of our breeding program, they enjoy all the love, attention, and daily life of being someone's pet. After retirement (typically around 5 years of age), we cover their spay or neuter and transfer full ownership to your family.
No Purchase Price
There is no purchase price for your guardian dog. Guardian families are responsible for routine expenses such as annual veterinary care, vaccinations, heartworm and flea prevention, food, grooming every 6–8 weeks, and everyday pet care. We also highly recommend carrying pet insurance for your guardian dog while they are part of our program.
Breeding Commitments
Male guardian dogs typically visit us for a few days when needed for breeding. Female guardian dogs stay with us for approximately one week during each heat cycle and around 8–9 weeks while raising each litter. We understand this can be emotional, so we look for families who are comfortable with this commitment before applying.
